The Capitol Polo Club is located in Poolesville, Maryland approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Washington DC. We are situated on nearly 600 acres of beautiful fields and wooded terrain in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve. Our facilities include three (3) full size polo fields, one (1) outdoor arena, one (1) indoor arena and a full grandstand/clubhouse.
Capitol Polo Club hosts three seasons of polo. In the Spring and Fall we play arena polo and during the summer months we offer grass polo. Weather permitting, we have regular club practices on the grass on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning in June. Every Sunday we host a match at 3:00pm (11am in August to avoid the heat) that members of the public are encouraged to attend. We also host several USPA and local tournaments throughout the year, both in the arena and on the grass. This season we will host weekend matches where we invite members of the public to come out and enjoy an exciting afternoon of polo away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We have also teamed up with the Many Hats Institute, the Smithsonian Institue and EPIC (Equestrian Partners In Conservation) to host a variety of high goal matches for various charities in the greater DC community. In addition, we have teamed up with several local not-for-profit organizations to help raise funds and awareness for community groups.
